Our people
Members
Members lead the work of the Authority, primarily through the committee structure.
The MPA has 23 members, 12 from the London Assembly and 11 independent members, one appointed directly by the Home Secretary and the others through an open recruitment campaign. They are appointed for four years.
Each member is linked with at least one borough. This means wherever you live a member is taking a keen interest in policing issues in your area.
Staff
The MPA secretariat, led by the senior management team, supports the work of the committees and members. The MPA secretariat also engages with communities, stakeholders and partners across the capital.
Directorate of Audit, Risk and Assurance
All of our auditors are professionally trained and operate under the standards laid down by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and the Institute of Internal Auditors UK and Ireland. Our forensic auditors are experienced investigators. Our work is supported by professionally trained analysts.
