Summary

This report outlines the Treasury Management action plan for members' approval.

A. Recommendations

That members approve the action plan and note that Corporate Governance Committee will be monitoring implementation of the plan on a quarterly basis.

B. Supporting information

1. At the special meeting of the Finance and Resources Committee on 5 March, following internal and external review, it was agreed that the Treasurer, in consultation with the MPS Director of Resources and the MPA Director of Internal Audit would produce an action plan to take forward a number of recommendations on treasury management.

2. Following consultation, the plan is attached as Appendix 1 for members’ consideration and approval.

3. The current agenda has an updated report on treasury management policy and strategy, and the Resources Sub Committee considered detailed treasury management performance and statistics for the quarter end 31 December. Further quarterly report will be submitted on a quarterly basis.

4. It was further agreed that Corporate Governance Committee will be monitoring implementation of the approved action plan at its quarterly meetings.

C. Race and equality impact

Consideration has been given to the possible negative effects on all diversity strands through the MPA/MPS Environmental Strategy and the developing Ethical Investment Policy whereby best practice standards are promoted.
