Summary
This paper notes the publication of the Authority's policing and best value performance plan for 2001/02.
A. Recommendation
Members note the formal publication of the Authority's policing and performance plan for 2001/02.
B. Supporting information
1. Members are aware of the need to prepare and publish a policing and best value performance plan before the start of each financial year.
2. The Authority's plan, are being prepared jointly by MPA and MPS officers working closely with Members, was published on the internet in line with Home Office statutory guidelines. Printed copies of the plan will be sent to all Members. Copies will also be sent to all libraries and police stations as well as to key partners in London (see Appendix 1).
3. The plan is subject to Audit by the Authority's external auditors and an audit report must be sent to the Authority by 30 June 2001. The Authority must publish the audit report and prepare a statement of the actions it will take in response to any recommendations made in the report.
4. A summary of the plan will be sent to households as part of the GLA summary in June.
C. Financial implications
The costs of producing and distributing the hard copies of the plan are likely to be between £10,000 and £12,000.
