The Chair will open the meeting by outlining its purpose and suggesting how the Authority might address the issues contained in the following reports.

- A response to the Home Office consultation paper on revising the definition of categories of deaths of members of the public during or following police contact.
- 'Lessons from Tragedies' - update
- Police suspension policy
- MPS firearms policy, performance and training
- Deaths in custody: recent and current cases
- Next steps
To consider how the Authority wishes to progress the issues discussed at the meeting and also to decide which of its committees should take the lead on these. - Exclusion of press and public
To resolve that the press and public be asked to leave the meeting during discussion of the remaining item of business because exempt information as defined in paragraphs 12 and 14 of Part I Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 is likely to be made known.
Please note that all members of the press and public had to leave the meeting at this point.
