I have raised with both the Clerk of the Authority and with the Commissioner of Police, in writing, my concerns regarding the MPS and MPA sponsorship of events and organisations, together with the procedures and rules regarding the use of the MPA/MPS logo by third party organisations.
Specifically my concerns relate to:
- The decision making process in place within the MPS/MPA for deciding which groups are sponsored by the MPS?
- Whether the MPS/MPA have any corporate rules regarding the types of groups/organisations that are sponsored?
- The rules/regulations regarding sponsors using the MPA/MPS logo?
- Ensuring that sponsorship funds are spent for the purpose for which they were provided and that all conditions attached to the sponsorship are met?
- The groups or events that have used the MPA/MPS logo since the Authority’s inception?”
