1. Apologies for absence

No apologies were received.
2. Declarations of interests
(Agenda item 2)
Aneeta Prem stated that she had been involved in previous consideration of one of the cases. It was agreed she would leave the room when item 8b was discussed.
3. Minutes of the Professional Standards Cases Sub-committee (part 1): 8 June 2006
(Agenda item 3)
It was noted that the heading of minute 24 (agenda item 6) should read ‘Police Pension Regulations 1987 - forfeiture of pension. With that amendment the minutes were agreed
Resolved - That the minutes of the Professional Standards Cases Sub Committee (Part 1): 18 May 2006 be confirmed and signed as a correct record, subject to the change detailed above.
4. Exclusion of press and public
(Agenda item 4)
A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the remaining agenda items as they would be likely to disclose exempt information as described in Part 1, paragraphs 1 and 7, of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).
Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the remaining agenda items.

Subject to a change in the heading of minute 24 (agenda item 6) the minutes of the Professional Standards Cases Sub Committee (Part 2): 8 June 2006 were confirmed and signed as a correct record.
6. Police Pension Regulations 1987
(Agenda item 6)
6a - Application for a certificate
The Sub-Committee agreed that determination of whether an application should be made to the Home Secretary for a certificate of pension forfeiture be deferred to another meeting.

It was resolved that no application be made to the Home Office for a certificate of pension forfeiture in this case.
7. Oral update on cases resulting from operation Helios
(Agenda item 7)
The Head of Professional Standards informed members that they would be fully briefed when the IPCC completed its report.
