Note

The Sub Committee started at 12.00 noon. As it was inquorate it was agreed to suspend the meeting until 1.30 pm when sufficient members were present to form a quorum.

46. Apologies for absence

(Agenda item 1)

Apologies were received from Anthony Arbour, Reshard Auladin (Chair), Elizabeth Howlett, Karim Murji, Aneeta Prem, John Roberts and Richard Sumray. In the absence of the Chair, his Deputy chaired the meeting.

47. Declarations of interests

(Agenda item 2)

No declarations of interest were received.

48. Exclusion of press and public

(Agenda item 3)

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the remaining agenda item as it would be likely to disclose exempt information as described in Part 1, Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the remaining agenda items.

49. Police pensions regulations 1987 - application for certificate

(Agenda item 4)

As the ex officer has not been convicted of an offence in connection with his service as a member of a police force, members agreed that no application should be made to the Home Secretary for a certificate of forfeiture. It was further agreed that a Police Federation representative and the Counsel that acted for the MPA in appeals against police pension forfeiture decisions should address members on police pension forfeiture at or after a meeting of the Professional Standards and Complaints Committee.
