2. Minutes of the Professional Standards Cases Sub-committee (Part 1)

(Agenda item 2)

Resolved that the minutes (Part 1) of the meetings of the Sub-Committee held on 11 February 2009 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.

3. Declarations of interests

4. Exclusion of press and public

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the remaining agenda item as it would be likely to disclose exempt information as described in Part 1, Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the remaining agenda items.

5. Summary of exempt items

The following are a summary of the exempt reports.

Police Pensions Regulations 1987- application for a certificate of forfeiture
The Sub Committee agreed to invite the Home Secretary to grant a certificate of forfeiture under the Police Pensions Regulations 1987 in respect of a former Police Constable.

Police Pensions Regulations 1987 – FORFEITURE STAGE
The Sub Committee agreed to invite the Home Secretary to make a permanent forfeiture of pensioning respect of a former police constable.

Update on Pension forfeiture cases and business interest appeals
The Sub Committee noted the report that gave an update on a number of business interest appeals that had been remitted for reconsideration, pension forfeiture cases that had been appealed to the Crown Court and an application for forfeiture refused by the Home Secretary.

Update on ACPO conduct matters
The Sub Committee received an update on a number of ACPO conduct matters.

Consideration of a civil claim
The Sub Committee considered and determined the action to be taken with regard to a civil claim against the MPS.
