B. Supporting information

Findings of the Dip Sampling process in November 2010

1. At its meeting on 20 December 2010, Members indicated that two criteria of the draft checklist for dip sampling closed complaints’ files, namely (1) “Was an accurate risk assessment made” and (2) “Were processes complied with”, were too wide and ambiguous, requiring revision. In order to deal effectively with Members’ requests, officers of the Professional Standards Team are seeking the Directorate of Professional Standards’ processes in respect of reviewing closed complaints’ files and will report back their findings. In the meantime, these two criteria have been deleted from the draft checklist.

2. Additionally, the amendments agreed by members at that meeting to the draft checklist, specifically the insertion of an “Any other comments” box and the reference number of the dip sampled file, have been incorporated in the revised checklist (see Appendix 1).
