Items to be considered while the press and public are present

  1. Election of Chair and Deputy Chair for the year
  2. Apologies for absence
  3. To receive any declarations of interests from members of the Committee.
    If a member declares a personal interest, as defined in the MPA’s code of conduct, she or he may remain in the meeting and speak and vote on the issue. If the issue is a prejudicial one, the member must withdraw from the meeting during the discussion of that item.
  4. Minutes: 16 May 2003
  5. Audit Commission review – ‘Setting High Ethical Standards
    ’This review of the MPA is currently underway. The Audit Commission’s project leader will attend the meeting to outline the scope of the review and emerging findings.
  6. Second Annual Assembly of Standards Committees, 9/10 June 2003Oral report back on this Assembly, which was attended by Cecile Wright and the Deputy Clerk.

  10. Local Determinations by Standards Committees
    There will be a briefing session at the meeting on the committee’s responsibility for determining some complaints, and the procedure it should follow in doing so.

Members were reminded that if they had a financial interest in any matter that was discussed at the meeting they should have declared the interest and not taken part in any discussion or voted on it.
