Summary
This report invites the Committee to confirm appointments to the Sub-Committees.
A. Recommendation
That
- Members confirm the membership of the Olympics and Paralympics Sub-Committee as set out at paragraph 3 below, and note that appointments made to Chairman and Vice Chairman shall require ratification when this Committee next meets.
- Members confirm the membership of the Counter-Terrorism and Protective Services Sub-Committee as set out at paragraph 6 below, and note that appointments made to Chairman and Vice Chairman shall require ratification when this Committee next meets.
- Members confirm the membership of the Professional Standards Sub-Committee as set out at paragraph 9 below, and that the nominations of its Chairman and its Vice Chairman be ratified.
B. Supporting information
1. Members are advised that this report has been drafted prior to the meeting of the Full Authority on 24 June 2010 and is therefore liable to change. Members shall receive written notification of any changes in a Members’ Briefing prior to this Committee meeting.
2. Members have requested that the Strategic and Operational Policing Committee should be supported by three sub-committees.
Olympics and Paralympics Sub-Committee
3. At the Authority meeting on 24 June it is likely that the membership will have been confirmed as:
- Jennette Arnold
- Chris Boothman
- Victoria Borwick
- Toby Harris
- Kirsten Hearn, and
- Dee Doocey
- Clive Lawton
4. The quorum is three members and the Sub-Committee will continue to meet once a month.
5. At a meeting of the Sub-Committee held on 8 July Members will hear nominations for Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Strategic and Operational Policing Committee shall be asked to ratify these appointments when it next meets on 16 September 2010.
Counter-Terrorism and Protective Services Sub-Committee
6 At the Authority meeting on 24 June it is likely that the membership will have been confirmed as:
- Toby Harris
- Reshard Auladin
- James Cleverly
- Neil Johnson
7. The quorum is three members and the Sub-Committee will continue to meet once every two months.
8. At a meeting of the Sub-Committee held on 29 July Members will hear nominations for Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Strategic and Operational Policing Committee shall be asked to ratify these appointments when it next meets on 16 September 2010.
Professional Standards Cases Sub-Committee
9. At the Authority meeting on 24 June it is likely that the membership will have been confirmed as:
- Reshard Auladin
- Tony Arbour
- Chris Boothman
- James Cleverly
- Valerie Brasse
10. The quorum is three members and the Sub-Committee will continue to meet once a month.
11. At a meeting of the Sub-Committee held on 28 June Members will hear nominations for Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Committee is asked to ratify these appointments.
