Summary

This report seeks member nominations to outside body vacancies not filled at the annual meeting.

A. Recommendations

That

  1. R David Muir and Abdal Ullah be appointed to the LGA Social Inclusion Group; and
  2. members consider filling the remaining vacancies on the LGA’s Social Inclusion Policy Group and Police Authorities in Corporate Membership.

B. Supporting information

1. At the annual meeting of the Authority on 26 June 2003 members were appointed to serve as MPA representatives on various outside bodies.

2. At the last meeting of the Committee on 1 September 2003 members received a further report on those organisations not filled at the annual meeting. Vacancies to the Association of Police Authorities were filled and it was agreed that the unfilled vacancies to the Local Government Association (LGA) be offered to all members again.

3. The Clerk had subsequently received two nominations from R David Muir and Abdal Ullah to represent the MPA on the LGA’s Social Inclusion Policy Group. This leaves one place available on this Group.

4. There also remains one vacancy on the LGA Police Authorities in corporate membership’.
