Summary
This report seeks a nomination for MPA representation on the MPS Programme Board – Responding to major disasters.
A. Recommendations
That
- members either nominate one member to represent the MPA on the Programme Board; or
- MPA representation on the Programme Board be an officer appointment.
B. Supporting information
1. At the Co-ordination and Policing Committee meeting held on 4 November 2005 members received an urgent report, which updated the Committee on a review of the policing responses to disasters.
2. Arising from this report, the MPS invited MPA representation on the Programme Board – Responding to Major Disasters. The MPS have indicated that there is one place available to the MPA.
3. The Terms of Reference for the Programme Board are:
‘To identify all recommendations and best practice suggested from the recent responses to major disasters. In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, establish a summary of all such recommendations and prioritise them. To draft appropriate Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), Service levels Agreements (SLA) and Police Notice to effectively communicate and implement those agreed recommendations and changes.’
4. Members are asked to either nominate a member to the Board or to agree that representation be by MPA officer
