Summary
This report advises of the areas which the Black Police Association wishes to raise with the Board.
A. Recommendations
That the Board discusses the submission by the Black Police Association.
B. Supporting information
1. At its last meeting the Board agreed a schedule of meetings with various key groups and partners under which a different organisation would be invited to each meeting. The Black Police Association (BPA) has been invited to this meeting.
2. Leroy Logan, the Chair of the BPA has confirmed that he and colleagues will be attending the meeting and wish to raise the following items:
- The BPA community outreach work – Paddington Community Project
- Anti drugs and anti gun crime campaigns
- Recruitment
- Retention
- Virdi Report
3. The Board may wish to discuss further matters with the Association.
C. Equality and diversity implications
Meetings between the Board and groups such as the Black Police Association is seen as adding value to the MPA’s diversity agenda.
