Summary

The Consultation Committee received the attached report at its meeting on 13 November that proposed a review of Independent Custody Visiting (ICV). The recommendations in the report were agreed.

A. Recommendation

That the attached report be noted – in particular paragraphs 8 to 11 - due to its relevance to the Authority’s overall equalities agenda.

B. Supporting information

1. The report attached at appendix 1 was received by the Consultation Committee on 13 November.

2. The recommendations contained in that report were agreed, and the Chair of the Consultation Committee, Cindy Butts, requested that ICV Panels be kept appraised of what proposed and not alienated by the process.

C. Equality and diversity implications

The equal opportunities and diversity implications are contained in part C of appendix 1.

D. Financial implications

The cost implications are contained in part D of appendix 1.
