Summary

The attached report records that HM Inspectorate of Constabulary have concluded that the efficiency target set for 2000-2001 has been achieved.

B. Supporting information

1. The attached letter (Appendix 1) from Sir Keith Povey HM Inspector of Constabulary reports that he has assessed the Force Best Value Performance Indicator for the 2000-2001 Efficiency Plan. He has recorded that the efficiency target set for 2000-2001 was achieved.

2. The 2% target was set at £36.7 million and some £42.13 million efficiency gains were achieved, comprising £22.64 million cashable and £19.49 million non cashable.
