Summary

The final grant settlement for 2008-09 and provisional 2009-10 and 2010-11 settlement was announced on 24 January. The details were as anticipated following the provisional announcement on 6 December. Details of the Dedicated Security Posts specific grant were announced on 6 February.

B. Supporting information

1. The Minister of State for Local government confirmed proposals for the first three-year grant settlement covering 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11. The announcement, covered formula grant for three years, with the latter two years being provisional.

2. The formula grant settlement was as expected in December:

4. Capital Grants. Police general capital grant was announced at £38.442 million for 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11. This is some £2.586 million in excess of the sum provided for in the Authority’s capital programme and proposals will be brought back later in the year for its use when the capital programme is reviewed.
