Summary
At the meeting of the Finance Planning and Best Value Committee (FPBV) on 6 December, it was resolved that a member group be set up with the Professional Standards and Performance Monitoring Committee (PSPM) and the Human Resources Committee (HRC) to review the Willis' report into risk management and the MPS response. This paper seeks nominations from HRC.
A. Recommendations
That the HRC nominate one or more members to the member group to review the Willis' report into risk management and the MPS response.
B. Supporting information
1. The FPBV Committee considered the report at Appendix 1 and resolved that a member group be set up with the Professional Standards and Performance Monitoring Committee (PSPM) and the Human Resources Committee (HRC) to review the Willis' report into risk management and the MPS response. The Committee noted that it is intended that the group would be a time limited group. The Committee also agreed to the appointment of a dedicated risk manager to be located within the MPS at a total cost of £100,000 which covers the cost of recruitment, salary and the on-costs. The cost will be met by offsetting savings in the compensation budget.
2. The two Deputy Chairs of FPBV (Reshard Auladin and Nicholas Long) were nominated to the member group together with the Chair of the Audit Panel (Sir John Quinton.)
3. The Professional Standards and Performance Monitoring Committee at its meeting on 11 December nominated Anthony Arbour and R. David Muir to the group.
4. The Human Resources Committee is invited to nominate up to two members to the group.
C. Financial implications
Members will be entitled to payment of the appropriate allowances for this role.
