37. Election of Chair

Resolved – That Rachel Whittaker be appointed Chair for this meeting.

40. Minutes of sub-committee meeting 24 February 2005

(Agenda item 4)

The Sub-Committee considered the minutes (Part 1) of the meeting held on 24 February 2005.

The Chair requested that the Sub-Committee receive at its meeting on 28 April 2005 a proposed protocol for considering forfeiture cases.

Resolved – That

  1. the minutes of the Sub-Committee meeting held on 24 February 2005 be agreed and signed as a correct record; and
  2. Members consider a protocol for considering forfeiture cases.

41. Minutes of sub-committee meeting 3 March 2005

(Agenda item 5)

The Sub-Committee considered the minutes (Part 1) of the meeting held on 3 March 2005. Members requested amendments to these minutes and that they be further considered at the next meeting of the Sub-Committee.

Resolved – That the minutes of the Sub-Committee meeting held on 3 March 2005, be amended and presented for approval to the next meeting of the Sub-Committee.

42. Update on appeals

(Agenda item 6)

The Sub-committee received an update on current appeals.

Members were informed that Mr Newman would be appealing against the Sub-committee’s decision. A request was made that those members who had considered that forfeiture case should be informed of this decision.

Resolved – That the update on appeals be noted.

43. Exclusion of press and public

(Agenda item 4)

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during items 8 to 11 as they were likely to disclose exempt information as described in paragraph 1, schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during discussion of agenda items 8 to 11.
