Summary

Appendix 1 of this report gives a summary of Specialist Operations Command performance against its objectives from August to September 2004.

B. Supporting information

1. Appendix 1 of this report provides management information on the Metropolitan Police Service Specialist Operations Command.

2. It gives a brief commentary on performance against the MPS objectives. It comments on the performance data provided and any difficulties in achieving the targets. Previous criticism has been taken into account and alterations applied to alleviate them.

3. Specialist Operations Counter Terrorism performance measures continue to be reviewed and improved to support the MPS mission of making London the safest capital city in the world.

C. Race and equality impact

There are no specific equalities items addressed. The performance indicators within this report and their data content are arrived at with a regard to delivering Specialist Operations policing services - in cooperation with the other commands within the MPS, the greater policing family and other organisations - as appropriate to the people who live and work in London. This report should fully comply with equal opportunities policies and associated MPA/MPS Diversity issues.

D. Financial implications

There are minimal financial implications as all of the data featured in this report is already produced regularly by the MPS.
