Summary

This report informs members of the response from the MPA and MPS to the Home Office to the recent Government consultation exercise on best value performance indicators.

A. Supporting information

1. At the Committee meeting held on 10 October 2000, members were informed of the Government’s consultation document on best value performance indicators and noted the closing date for responses was 27 October 2000.

2. Members resolved that a joint MPA/MPS response, subject to the final response being agreed of the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Committee, be forwarded to the Home Office. A joint response was sent to the Home Office on 25 October a copy is given at Appendix 1

B. Recommendation

That members note the MPA and MPS response to the Government consultation on best value performance indicators.

There are no financial implications arising from this report.
