Part 1

1. Election of Chair

Resolved – That Reshard Auladin be elected Chair for the meeting.

2. Apologies for absence

Apologies were received from Jennette Arnold.

3. Declarations of interests from members of the committee

(Agenda item 3)

Graham Tope indicated that in respect of one of the matters in agenda item 7, his local MP was also that of the individual raising the allegations with the consequence that the local MP had contacted Mr Tope. Mr Tope stressed that he had had no direct contact with the individual involved nor did the individual know of his existence. It was agreed that Mr Tope did not have any interest to declare.

No declarations of interests were made. It was, however, recognised that Richard Sumray had a declaration in respect of one of the cases to be considered under agenda item 6 but that he would not be present for the discussions of that matter.

It was noted that the minutes of the meeting on 7 March 2003 had not be attached to the Sub-Committee papers but would be available for consideration at the next meeting of the Sub-Committee.
