14. Election of Chair

(Agenda item 1)

Nominations for chair were sought.

Resolved – That Jennette Arnold chair the special meeting of the ACPO Conduct Sub-Committee.

15. Apologies for absence

(Agenda item 2)

Apologies for absence were received from Reshard Auladin, Elizabeth Howlett, Nicholas Long and Cecile Wright (members) and David Riddle (Deputy Clerk).

16. Declarations of interests from members of the committee

(Agenda item 3)

Reshard Auladin, Elizabeth Howlett and Nicholas Long were not present having previously declared an interest in agenda. It was noted that Richard Sumray’s presence ensured continuity in the matters under discussion.

17. Exclusion of press and public

(Agenda item 4)

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during item 6 as it was likely to disclose exempt information as described in paragraph 1 of part 1, Schedule 12(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during discussion of agenda item 5

The Sub-Committee considered allegations concerning the conduct of some ACPO officers.
