53. Election of chair

(Agenda item 1)

Nominations for chair were sought.

Resolved – That Reshard Auladin chair the meeting of the ACPO Conduct Sub-Committee.

54. Apologies

(Agenda item 2)

Apologies for absence were received from Jennette Arnold, Richard Sumray and Rachel Whittaker.

It was noted in view of the apologies for absences received, the Clerk agreed to use delegated powers to agree that Sir John Quinton to be a member of this meeting of the Sub-Committee.

55. Declarations of interests from members of the sub- committee

56. Minutes

(Agenda item 4)

The Sub-Committee considered the minutes (Part 1) of the meetings held on 16 and 30 October 2003 and 10 November 2003.

Resolved – That the minutes of the Sub-Committee meetings held on 16 and 30 October and 10 November 2003 (Part 1) be agreed and signed as a correct record.

57. Exclusion of press and public

(Agenda item 5)

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during items 6-8 as it was likely to disclose exempt information as described in Schedule 12(a) (1) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during discussion of agenda items 6-8.

The Sub-Committee received the minutes (Part 2) of the meetings held on 16 and 30 October 2003 and 10 November 2003.

(Agenda item 7)

The Sub-Committee considered allegations concerning the conduct of a number of ACPO officers.

(Agenda item 8)

The Sub-Committee considered an update of current cases.
