67. Election of chair

(Agenda item 1)

The Sub-Committee were asked to nominate a Chair.

Members agree that a chair should be appointed up until the annual meeting of the Authority in July 2004.

Resolved – That Reshard Auladin chair meetings of the ACPO Conduct Sub-Committee until the annual meeting of the Authority in July 2004.

68. Apologies

Apologies for absence were received from Rachel Whittaker and Alan Johnson (Head of HR and Professional Standards and Complaints).

69. Declarations of interests from members of the sub-committee

No declarations were made.

70. Minutes

(Agenda item 4)

The Sub-Committee considered the minutes (Part 1) of the meetings held on 12 January 2004.

Resolved – That the minutes of the Sub-Committee meetings held on 12 January 2004 (Part 1) be agreed and signed as a correct record.

71. Exclusion of press and public

(Agenda item 5)

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during items 6-9 as it was likely to disclose exempt information as described in Schedule 12(a) (1) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during discussion of agenda items 6-8.

The Sub-Committee considered allegations concerning the conduct of ACPO officer.

The Sub-Committee were asked to consider if allegations made against ACPO officers fell within relevant legislation.
