Metropolitan Police Authority appoints new member

At today’s meeting of the Metropolitan Police Authority, Jennette Arnold, the GLA member (Labour) for Londonwide, was appointed to replace David Lammy, who resigned as a member of the Authority following his election as MP for Tottenham. Jennette will also serve on the Authority’s Human Resources Committee and the Consultation, Diversity and Outreach Committee.

The Metropolitan Police Authority took over responsibility for the Metropolitan Police Service from the Home Secretary on 3 July. The Metropolitan Police Authority held its first meeting on 26 June, 2000 at which Lord Toby Harris was elected Chair and Peter Herbert and Richard Barnes were elected Deputy Chairs.
