A chance for people to ask questions on policing in the borough

The Metropolitan Police Authority’s Consultation, Diversity & Outreach Committee are holding their next meeting in Waltham Forest on Tuesday, 24 October 2000, at The Epicentre, 41 West Street, Leytonstone starting at 6pm.

On this occasion there will be an opportunity for the general public to ask questions and put their views to the Committee. There will also be an opportunity to speak to individual members of the Committee after the meeting.

Announcing the venue for the meeting, the Chair of the Consultation, Diversity and Outreach Committee, R. David Muir, said:

"The work of the Consultation, Diversity and Outreach Committee is vital in building effective partnerships with London’s diverse communities. We want a police service which has the confidence and trust of their local communities and it is our intention to have many of our meetings in community venues to facilitate local participation and greater understanding of the work of the Metropolitan Police Authority and its Consultation, Diversity and Outreach Committee. Our objective is to make London a safe and enjoyable place to live and work."

The Agenda will include: A Draft Consultation Strategy Update on Consulting the public about the 2001/02 Policing and Performance Plan Community related initiatives
