Aneeta Prem - MPA link member for Havering and Redbridge

70/04
6 October 2004

Aneeta Prem, magistrate member of the Metropolitan Police Authority has been confirmed as the Authority link member for the London boroughs of Havering and Redbridge.

Commenting on her role as link member for these boroughs, Aneeta said:

"I am delighted to take up my appointment as MPA link member for Havering and Redbridge.

"One of my primary ambitions for becoming a member of the Metropolitan Police Authority was to be part of making London safer for everyone who lives, works or visits the capital. But as link member for Havering and Redbridge I will be taking s specific interest in the issues that affect people directly in these boroughs, and will do all I can to make a difference.

“My experience of working as a magistrate in Redbridge has given me a vivid insight into the problems of anti-social behaviour that our communities suffer. Vandalism, unacceptable drunkenness and drug-related crime are not isolated to central London – outer lying boroughs such as Havering and Redbridge are just as blighted by these worrying trends and I will highlight these important local concerns in the work I do with the MPA.

“I look forward to working in partnership with local police and representative groups to make a real difference to the safety of our communities.”
