Summary
Briefing Note requested at the Communities, Equalities and People Committee meeting on 7 July 2011 (Agenda Item 9 - Development of Metropolitan Special Constabulary by Territorial Policing)
The following data is an extract from the MPS Workforce Data Report dated the end June 2011.
As of the end of June 2011, there were 5,058 Special Constables in the MSC.
Of these, 30.8% were female and 28.9% were from BME communities.
8.1% are female and BME, and 20.8% are male and BME taken from the MSC as a whole.
Marked in the report as Table 5 (appendix 1) and shown on the following page, a breakdown of MSC strengths by OCU and by business group is displayed.
