Using our website

The Metropolitan Police Authority website (www.mpa.gov.uk) is maintained for your personal use and viewing. Access and use by you of this site constitutes acceptance by you of these Terms and Conditions that take effect from the date of first use.

The site contains copyright material, trade names and other proprietary information, including, but not limited to, text, photos, graphics, video and audio. The entire contents of the site are protected by copyright law. We, or our licensors, own copyright in the selection, coordination, arrangement and enhancement of such content, as well as in the content original to it.

You may reproduce our protected protected material free of charge in any format for non-commercial research, private study or internal circulation within your organisation. The material must be acknowledged as Metropolitan Police Authority copyright and you must give the title of the source document/publication.

The names, images and logos identifying the Metropolitan Police Authority (originally read Greater London Authority) are proprietary marks of the Metropolitan Police Authority (originally read Greater London Authority).

Copying of our logos or any other third party logos accessed via this website is not permitted without prior approval from the relevant copyright owner.

The MPA rarely gives approval for the use of its logo by third parties and then only in connection with events or activities by other government or local government agencies or supported voluntary organisations that are acting in the interests of policing or criminal justice.

Requests for permission to use our logos should be emailed to communications@mpa.gov.uk

Please ensure that you tell us how and why you wish to use our logo and include your contact details: name, address, telephone number, fax number and email.

Hyperlinking to us

We do not object to you linking directly to the information that is hosted on our site and you do not have to ask permission to do so. However, we ask you to comply with the following conditions:

  • the link to us must not imply explicitly by description or implicitly by location of the link or logo on the page that the services, products etc your organisation supplies are endorsed by the MPA
  • if you use the MPA logo it must be used unamended - it must not be edited
  • if you use the logo you must always include an alt tag
  • if the logo itself is used as a hyperlink, it must only link to the MPA home page – www.mpa.gov.uk  (new window)
  • the link to the MPA site must not load the page into frames - the page must load into the user's entire window.
