Summary
Following the resignation of a member from Standards Committee, this report seeks a replacement nomination.
A. Recommendation
That
- Dee Doocey’s resignation from the Standards Committee be noted; and
- a replacement on the Standards Committee be appointed.
B. Supporting information
1. Dee Doocey has tendered her resignation from this committee to the Chief Executive.
2. Following recent legislative changes, this committee has increased in importance as it has become the first point of contact for receiving and dealing with complaints against members. Because sub-committees with separate memberships have to be established to assess and review any complaints received, it is important to maintain numbers of members on this committee. Therefore, a replacement member for Dee Doocey is sought.
3. Prior to Dee Doocey’ s resignation there were eight members of the Standards Committee made up of four Independent members, two Assembly members and two external independent members.
