RESOLVED - That the minutes (Part 1) of the Professional Standards Cases Sub Committee held on 13 September 2007 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.

33. Exclusion of press and public

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the remaining agenda item as it would be likely to disclose exempt information as described in Part 1, Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the remaining agenda items.

35. Police regulations 2003 - business interests appeal

(Agenda item 6)

Members resolved that the officer’s proposed business interest was incompatible with his membership of the MPS and his appeal against his Assistant Commissioner’s decision be dismissed. It was also agreed that the MPS’s mishandling of the case and the inadequacy of the legal advice provided be raised with the MPS.

This part of the meeting ended at 2.30 pm, however the Sub Committee reconvened after the Professional Standards and Complaints Committee to consider the outstanding item.

36. Police Reform Act 2002

Agenda item 7)

The MPA had received a complaint from a member of the public against an ACPO officer. The Sub Committee agreed that the complaint should be recorded; and that no further action should be taken to investigate the complaint.
