Summary
To report on the dip sampling of closed complaints’ files undertaken by members of the Professional Standards Cases Sub-Committee (“the PSCSC”) in July 2011 and other associated matters.

- Note and discuss the contents of this report.
- Approve the amended checklist for dip sampling of closed complaints’ files.

Amended draft checklist
1. As was agreed at the meeting on 4 April 2011, the checklist for the dip sampling of closed complaints’ files has been further amended to include specific references to the Misconduct Investigation Guide (MIG) (see Appendix 1).
Dip sampling of closed complaint files in July 2011
2. For the purpose of the dip sampling exercise in July 2011, members had requested closed complaints’ files on sexual offences. Ten such files were sought from the Directorate of Professional Standards, as follows:
- 1 from Barnet
- 1 from Hackney
- 1 from Brent
- 1 from Westminster
- 2 from Hounslow
3. Of the 10 files sought, 9 were received and dip sampled. Members’ findings are included at “Appendix 2”, as an exempt item.
