Virdi inquiry

This inquiry is now in the final stages of completion. It has heard evidence from a wide range of individuals and organisations. A final report will be presented to the MPA in June and it is expected that the report will highlight lessons for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA).

TELCO safe streets map

I attended the launch of the Street Map and received a copy on behalf of the Authority. Commander Roberts represented the MPS.

Peter Solley

This case has been publicised in the press and I have become involved in developments in my capacity as link member for Greenwich. I will be meeting with local leaders to discuss the lessons arising from the case.

Sylvester family

I have received correspondence from the family of Roger Sylvester concerning disclosure. I have been in contact with the MPS concerning this and look forward to receiving information which I can convey to the family. I have written to the family to inform them of my actions.

Meeting with Commission for Racial Equality

Following the decision taken at the last CDO Committee meeting, I will be meeting with Martin Meredith of the CRE to explore ways in which the MPA and the CRE can forge closer working relationships. I am also pleased that Martin will be making a presentation later at this meeting.
