Marylebone Police Station – investment appraisal

Report: 14
Date: 6 December 2001
By: Clerk

Summary

A report 'Marylebone Police Station – Investment Appraisal' (Appendix 1) was received by the Estates Sub-Committee on 19 November 2001, where its recommendations were agreed.

A. Recommendations

That-

the project be included in the future programme of capital works for start on site in 2002/03 and in the medium term financial forecasts.

B. Supporting information

1. A report was received by the Estates Sub Committee reviewing the options for the future use of Marylebone Divisional police station and Robert Mark section house. Members agreed that option 1 (alterations and improvements to Marylebone police station and conversion of Robert Mark section house to an operational police building) be the preferred option, although it was felt the business case for the station was not full enough.

2. The Estates Sub-Committee is only empowered to approve schemes of up to a maximum of £1m per individual scheme not previously included in the approved capital programme. The proposal is therefore referred to the Finance, Planning and Best Value Committee so that the project might be included in the future programme of capital works and in the medium term financial forecasts.

C. Financial implications

The financial implications are contained in the report at appendix 1.

D. Background papers

See: appendix 1.
