Summary
The attached report records that HM Inspectorate of Constabulary have concluded that the efficiency target set for 2001/02 has been achieved.

1. The attached letter (Appendix 1) from Sir Ronnie Flanagan, HM Inspector of Constabulary reports that he has assessed the Force Best Value Performance Indicator for the 2001/02 Efficiency Plan. He has recorded that the efficiency target set for 2001/02 was achieved and financial gains are well evidenced.
2. The 2% target was set at £37 million and some £50.56 million efficiency gains were achieved, comprising £14.05 million cashable and £36.51 million non cashable.
