Summary

This report seeks approval to commence tender action for a replacement five-year contract to provide fresh and frozen meat.

A. Recommendation

Members are asked to approve the request to commence tender action for a replacement five-year contract for fresh and frozen meat.

B. Supporting information

1. This is a replacement five-year contract for the supply and delivery of fresh and frozen meat to 100+ MPS catering units.

2. The current five-year contract expires in May 2004.

3. Competitive tenders are sought from known and unknown companies, and these will be evaluated against pre-agreed scoring criteria.

4. An OJEU Notice specifying the requirement will be published following MPA approval.
