MPA hosts lunch for visiting American Black Police Association

112/02
7 November 2002

Twelve delegates from the American Black Police Association and one from the South African Black Police Association visited New Scotland Yard on Wednesday 6 November 2002. R. David Muir, Deputy Chair of the MPA and seven delegates from the Black Police Association hosted a lunch at New Scotland Yard. This followed an informal ceremony when memorabilia was exchanged with Deputy Assistant Commissioner Suzanna Becks, who was representing the Commissioner.

R. David Muir said:

“The U.S. National Black Police Association made us most welcome at their 30th Anniversary National Education and Training Conference in Los Angeles last Summer and we are very pleased that they are now able to attend the National Black Police Association AGM in Nottingham on Thursday 7 November.

“The conference in Los Angeles was a source of information and inspiration for us all. Sharing knowledge and lessons learnt with our international colleagues is a valuable experience, and can only help further the MPA’s aim to be among the leaders in promoting equal opportunities and diversity.

“We wish all our colleagues a very successful and enjoyable visit to our country.”
