MPA committee meetings: Joint meeting of the Strategic and Operational Policing and Finance and Resources Committees, followed by the Strategic and Operational Policing Committee

A joint meeting of the Metropolitan Police Authority Strategic and Operational Policing and Finance and Resources Committees will be held in Meeting Room 1, 10 Dean Farrar Street, London, SW1H 0NY at 2.00 pm on Thursday 17 March 2011.

It will be followed immediately by the Strategic and Operational Policing Committee.

At the joint meeting, amongst other items members will discuss:

  • Policing London Business Plan: to consider the plan and to resolve whether to recommend its adoption by the Full Authority on 31 March 2011
  • proposed budget amendments: a report setting out information on the amendments to the Authority’s 2011/12 budget proposed at the London Assembly on 23rd February 2011

At the Strategic and Operational Policing Committee, amongst other items members will discuss:

  • headline performance report: measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) and other corporate performance against 2010/11 targets outlined in the Policing London Business Plan 2010–13
  • TP performance report: outlining the performance of Territorial Policing (TP) and the progress of the TP Development Programme
  • the handling of spontaneous firearms incidents: outlining how the MPS have responded to the issues arising out of the Mark Saunders inquest, and in particular, the rationalisation of relevant standard operating procedures, and how learning from Stockwell impacted on the handling of this incident
  • update on the Anti-Violence Strategy: setting out the progress made with the implementation of the Metropolitan Police Service Anti- Violence Strategy since the last report to the Committee on 14th October 2010
  • Met Forward Two: a refreshed document which notes the developments that have taken place and the achievements made in the last two years. It articulates the future priorities for the MPA.
  • update on the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill (Oral report):
    • MPA officers will provide an oral update on the progress of the Bill
