Dee Doocey OBE (Liberal Democrat, Londonwide)

London Assembly Member

Photo of Dee Doocey

Dee Doocey AM was elected as a Liberal Democrat member of the Greater London Authority (GLA) in 2004. She became a GLA representative on the MPA in May 2005.

Dee’s main interest as a member of the MPA is in helping to create more visible policing. She is a strong believer in the British tradition of the police being an integral part of the communities they serve. Her priority is maintaining and building the confidence that people have in their local police, which is vital to the creation of a safer society.

Dee is Deputy Chair of the London Assembly and Chair of the London Assembly's Economy, Culture and Sport Committee, which is the lead committee on the Assembly for scrutinising the Olympics.

Dee gave up her business interests when she was elected to the London Assembly. She ran her own management consultancy, specialising in advising blue chip companies how to improve cost effectiveness. She was previously Group Managing Director of an international fashion company, with operations in London, Hong Kong and China.
