Summary

The linked exempt report sets out details of reviews undertaken on the performance of the two Property Services outsource contracts and makes recommendations for the delivery of direct labour and facilities management services after the expiry of the initial term of the existing contracts.

A. Recommendation

The Committee is asked to consider the recommendations in the linked exempt report.

B Supporting information

1. Two outsource contracts for Property Services were let in October 1998 to commence at noon on 1 January 1999. Each contract was for a initial term of five years with facility for possible extension of up to two years thereafter.

2. One contract provides Facilities Management Consultancy Services. The second provides Direct Labour Services.

3. The initial five-year term is due to expire on 1 January 2004. Following an external audit of the contracts proposals are made in the linked exempt report for providing these services from 1 January 2004.
