Summary

The linked exempt report sets out details of tenders received for the north east boroughs and introduces an alternative way forward of combining cleaning with other services.

A. Recommendation

The Committee is asked to approve the recommendations in the linked exempt report.

B. Supporting information

1. The Metropolitan Police Committee (MPC) in May 2000 approved a change in direction for cleaning contracts, namely to move away from five large contracts covering the Metropolitan Police District towards smaller zonal contracts aligning with the 32 London Boroughs.

2. Tenders for north east boroughs comprising three clusters have now been received and evaluated. Details of the tenders, their evaluation and recommendations are set out in the exempt report.
