Summary

This report sets out details of the negotiated costs to extend the existing Direct Labour Services contract until 31 December 2005.

A. Recommendation

Members are asked to agree the recommendations in the linked exempt report.

B. Supporting information

1. On 10 April 2003 members of the Finance Committee endorsed proposals to enter into negotiations with the present Direct Labour Services contractor to:

  1. extend the term of their contract by a further two years to 31 December 2005 as permitted within the conditions of their contract.
  2. extend the scope of their contract for the period 1 January 2004 to 31 December 2005.
  3. to appoint consultants to negotiate and draw up revised contractual terms on behalf of the MPA.
