Summary

This report is submitted to the Full Authority at the request of the Human Resources Committee at their meeting on 3 October. The appended report was originally submitted to the HR Committee and responded to Members concerns about civil staff levels on boroughs.

A. Recommendation

  1. To note the report.

B. Supporting information

1. The Human Resources Committee meeting on 3 October 2002 received a report regarding the impact of police recruitment on boroughs and the effects of the moratorium on borough civil staff recruitment.

2. The issues raised were considered appropriate to warrant discussion at a Full Authority meeting. It was resolved that the HR Committee paper be submitted to the next meeting of the Full Authority on 31 October. This is attached at Appendix 2.

There are no financial implications arising directly from this report. Appendix 1 identifies the need for further reviews, which might bear financial implications.
