Summary
A petition will be presented to the Authority calling for greater numbers of police officers to be allocated to Bromley borough.
A. Recommendation
That the Authority receives the petition and agrees a response to it.
B. Supporting information
1. A petition signed by 966 people is to be presented at the Authority meeting in the following terms: “We, the undersigned, note with concern that Bromley with a higher crime rate and larger population has only 425 police officers compared with Lewisham’s 566 and Greenwich’s 600. We call upon the Metropolitan Police Authority to review its current unfair funding policy and increase the number of police on Bromley streets.”
2. The Clerk will propose a response to the petition at the meeting.
