Summary

This report gives details, for information, of action taken by the Clerk under delegated authority on the grounds of urgency.

A. Recommendation

That the report be noted

B. Supporting information

1. Standing Order 6.1 provides for the Clerk or Treasurer to take decisions under delegated authority and in consultation with the Chair of the Authority where a decision is required urgently. Decisions taken in this way have to be reported to the next meeting of the Authority for information.

2. The following action has been taken since the last meeting of the Authority:

  • Authorising the attendance of R. David Muir at the American National Black Police Association’s National Education and Training Conference in Atlanta Georgia from 4 to 10 August (ref 09/03).

C. Equality and diversity implications

The conference will address issues relevant to black police officers in the United States and there will no doubt be issues and experiences that are shared by police officers in the MPS.
