Summary

This report proposes a date for a Special Authority meeting in January.

A. Recommendation

That a Special Meeting of the full Authority be held on Friday, 6 January at 11 a.m.

B. Supporting information

1. At the Special Meeting of the Authority on 17 November it was agreed to hold a further Special Meeting in January to consider the details of the Grant Settlement and any consequences for the Authority’s proposed 2005/06 budget. The Authority would then be in a position to finalise its budget submission to the Mayor and London Assembly in accordance with the GLA’s budget timetable.

2. A meeting of the MPA’s Co-ordination & Policing Committee is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, 6 January and it is proposed to replace this meeting with a special meeting of the full Authority. In addition to the 2006/07 Budget Submission, only one other item of business would be put to this meeting – to agree the MPA’s submission to the Home Secretary on its preferred option for the re-organisation of police services in London.
