Summary

The Audit Commission have reported on action taken by the MPA in response to their 2004 review ‘Setting High Ethical Standards’.

A. Recommendation

That the Committee notes the action plan update.

B. Supporting information

1. In February 2004 the Committee received a review carried out by the Audit Commission which looked at the extent to which the Authority was meeting its legislative responsibilities in terms of maintaining and promoting ethical behaviour amongst members. The Committee also agreed an action plan in response to the Audit Commission’s recommendations.

2. The Audit Commission has now reviewed the MPA’s progress against this action plan and their report is attached.
