Summary

This report invites the Committee to confirm appointments to its sub-committees.

A. Recommendation

That

  1. Members ratify the membership of the Olympics and Paralympics Sub-Committee as set out at paragraph 3 below, and appoint the Chairman and Vice Chairman as set out at paragraph 5.
  2. Members ratify the membership of the Counter-Terrorism and Protective Services Sub-Committee as set out at paragraph 6 below, and appoint the Chairman and Vice Chairman as set out at paragraph 8.
  3. Members ratify the membership of the Professional Standards Cases Sub-Committee as set out at paragraph 9 below, and appoint the Chairman and Vice Chairman as set out at paragraph 11.

B. Supporting information

1. Appointments to the Strategic and Operational Policing Committee were agreed by a decision of the Full Authority on 30 June 2011. In line with Standing Order 2.1.2, Members are now invited to make appointments to the sub-committees of the Strategic and Operational Policing Committee.

2. Members have requested that the Strategic and Operational Policing Committee should be supported by three sub-committees.

Olympics and Paralympics Sub-Committee

3. At the Authority meeting on 30 June membership was confirmed as:

  • Jennette Arnold
  • Chris Boothman
  • Victoria Borwick
  • Toby Harris
  • Kirsten Hearn
  • Dee Doocey

4. The quorum is three members and the Sub-Committee will continue to meet once a month.

5. Members are invited to reappoint Dee Doocey as the Sub Committee Chairperson and Jennette Arnold as its Vice-Chairperson.

Counter-Terrorism and Protective Services Sub-Committee

6 At the Authority meeting on 30 June membership was confirmed as:

  • Toby Harris
  • Reshard Auladin
  • James Cleverly
  • Neil Johnson

7. The quorum is three members and the Sub-Committee will continue to meet once every two months.

8. Members are invited to reappoint Toby Harris as the Sub Committee Chairperson and Reshard Auladin as its Vice-Chairperson.

Professional Standards Cases Sub-Committee

9. At the Authority meeting on 30 June it is likely that the membership will have been confirmed as:

  • Reshard Auladin
  • Tony Arbour
  • Chris Boothman
  • James Cleverly
  • Valerie Brasse
  • Joanne McCartney

10. The quorum is three members and the Sub-Committee will continue to meet once a month.

11. Members are invited to reappoint Reshard Auladin as the Sub Committee Chairperson and James Cleverly as its Vice-Chairperson.
