April performance report

Summary
This report gives a summary of MPS performance against policing plan objectives for 2002-3.
A. Recommendation
Members are asked to note the report.
B. Supporting information
1. The MPS Performance Review Committee (PRC) considered this report on 24 May 2002.
2. The report gives brief commentary on all priorities and identifies areas where further analysis is required.
3. Annex A gives a list of policing plan performance indicators, and other high profile performance measures.
4. PRC discussed this report, and asked that further analysis be carried out:
- to investigate the gap in satisfaction between victims of racist crime, and victims of all crime;
- to provide a more detailed analysis of autocrime and carjacking;
- to provide a further update regarding impending prosecutions.
These reports will be submitted to future PRCs.
5. Other areas of concern were the fact that stop-search data was incomplete, and that response times to urgent incidents had continued to decline. MPS definitions of urgent incidents will be reviewed, as will our performance in comparison with other metropolitan forces.
